To ensure our flowers arrive at your warehouse fresh and on time, we have developed an unparalleled supply chain.
At every step of the process we hold to precise and expeditious handling of our product, thereby providing security and integrity
of our shipments. By timing the harvesting, shipment and arrival, we maintain the ideal temperature conditions, preserving the longevity
of our flowers. Every shipment has a temperature log that alerts our crews in case of any inconsistency, so that it can be addressed
efficiently.
-
Flowers are cut in the early morning in the cool mountain air to avoid dehydration. Highly trained workers then quickly move the flowers to indoor grading and cooling post harvest facilities.
-
Quality assurance teams classify the flowers based on stem length, shape and color. The stems are then hydrated in a special solution to help maintain the vase life.
-
In the cooling process the flowers are packed by customer according to each customer specification. They are then placed in the cooler overnight where they will get to the optimum traveling temperature.
-
Shipment to Bogotá Airport
The following morning refrigerated trucks pick up the boxes that will be taken to the airport
Bogotá Airport
At the airport the cargo is also received into a cooling facility and kept there until the plane is ready for departure.
-
After an eight hour flight, the plane arrives at LAX International Airport.
-
The boxes are unloaded, taken through X-ray and checked by U.S. Customs and Department of Agriculture personnel.
Once U.S. Customs releases the Airway Bill and the flowers are ready for pickup by
a freight forwarder.
-
The transport process begins from the airport to the Florexpo warehouse. Once the product arrives, the boxes
are placed on racks. Once they are on racks, the pre-cooling process begins to lower the temperature to the ideal point of 34°F.
Finally, the product is ready to enter our inventory for sale.
-
With the boxes in our inventory, your order is ready to be processed. It is taken from our cooler directly to the transportation company or the airport in a refrigerated truck.
