To ensure only the most desirable and best performing flowers are in our product portfolio, we test thousands of plants from a select list of breeders. Ultimately, only the top few varieties we test will be chosen for propagation. Once propagation has taken place the plants are transfered to the production areas to begin the production process and start the growing cycle. Our specially designed polyethylene greenhouses are prepared for the latest plant arrivals. New flower beds are constructed for each crop to prevent contamination. Computer controlled irrigation systems are set in place and insulation is installed to provide the optimum environment for the plants to flourish. The shift to hydroponics which many of our farms have adopted has also improved on the health and productivity of our crops. People are still our number one resource and we are dedicated to providing some of the most extensive training in the industry. Our team of professionals carefully monitors the growth of each plant and ensures it is healthy. Our healthy plants produce the perfect products for market. |

Every type of flower has its own life; therefore, the time it takes to get the first flower is different for each crop. The life cycle of flowers can be divided into three main groups, annual, semi-perennial and perennial. Annual crops have a 12 to 30 week cycle. After these plants have been harvested, they will be pulled from the ground and new crops will be cultivated and planted. Semi-perennial crops have a 14 to 30 week cycle. These plants are treated for 4 to 7 months before the first flowers can be harvested. Afterwards, the plants can produce flowers for an average of two years before they are pulled and replaced. Finally, there are the perennials, which have a preparation period of 30 to 40 weeks before the first flowers begin to bud. It is an additional 20 to 40 weeks before the first harvest, however if the market keeps the variety in demand, these plants will continue to produce for up to 10 years. The growing cycle is a unique process that we have been able to perfect with our many years of experience. |

The harvesting process is one of the most critical for assuring quality and consistency. It has become both an art and science for our farms. After extensive research, optimum cut stages are determined for each variety. Cutting the flowers in this defined stage assures the product will travel, open and perform to its utmost potential. Once the flowers are cut, they are immediately transported to the post-harvest area where they are hydrated, graded, packed and kept over-night in coolers. Once they are pre-cooled to optimum traveling temperature, they are taken in refrigerated trucks to the airport and transported to our west coast facility. |
